I tested out of all my social science requirements in college, which is really a bit of a shame because I actually rather enjoy learning about different cultures and time periods. The Society for Historical Archaeology issued three special publications that were compilations of journal articles from Historical Archaeology. I placed page scans of published articles, laid out text and figures for new chapters, and designed the cover for the 50th-anniversary compendium. While skimming the articles being placed, I learned more about coal mining, cultural resource management, and buttons (the shirt kind) than I ever thought possible. The more you know!
See it in the wild!
